This painting celebrates the beauty, intelligence, and grit of expert horsewoman Betty Miles. After graduating from USC with a degree in monoeconomics and polyscience in 1931, Betty became a leading lady of Monogram, PRC, and Republic Westerns. She also taught school and served as principal in the California education system.
